We have had so much success
using the 450 pound and 500 pound systems that we have not pursued the
custom shelves as we intended. Take a look at both the 500
pound unit and the 450 pound unit and see
if they meet your needs. We can build a custom
topper for those units to make a semi custom shelf for far less than
we can make a completely custom shelf.
If you
are looking for a custom made slide out without the swivel for a built in
alcove you have come to the right place. I know with my own television
there is no possible way I could have placed my TV in position without my
custom heavy duty slide out system. I have a 36" Sony XBR that weighs
about 280 pounds. The location for the tv set is only 5" wider and
5" taller than my television is. We built a steel frame covered with
3/4" MDF and mounted on a set of 600 pound capacity 26" full
extension slides (it is better to have a product with too high a rating
than to take a chance). I never pull out my set to watch it, but having a
set this heavy on a slideout system sure makes it easy to connect a new
DVD player or whatever. Getting the set into the opening in my home
theater system was a breeze with the roll out shelf. It took two adults
with strong backs to lift the television up and my son simply pulled out
the shelf and we set the set in place. I can actually see the all of the
connections on the back of the set. After the set was on the shelf I
connected the wires and simply slid the shelf and TV into its
compartment.
